An update on this: the above bugzilla issue has a pointer to another
entry which describes a memory leak in openssl-pkcs11 package:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2097690

Bug 2072962 comments discuss how the leak appears to be caused by
openssl-pkcs11. I have also received additional confirmation that if
openssl-pkcs11 package is removed, the memory leak does not occur.

PKCS11 package is needed when, for example, secret key resides on a
hardware security module (HSM). openssl-pkcs11 package is not installed
by default on RHEL 7, Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 and it's not required by
Radiator. Therefore, if you are running Radiator on RHEL 8 and see a
memory leak and do not use a HSM, you can check if removing
openssl-pkcs11 helps.

Testing with Ubuntu 20.04, for example, shows that the leak does not
appear when Ubuntu's respective PKCS11 package is installed. It seems
that the leak is specific to the version in RHEL 8.

Thanks,
Heikki
