(RADIATOR) Using "Identifier" in a client clause

There are certainly other ways to do what I want, but I like the idea of
using the "Identifier" in a client clause to pass some parameter's to
an authby external program.

Something like this:

<Client 1.2.3.4>
         Secret XXXXXXX
         Identifier modem(student or faculty or staff)
</Client>

And while I can see clearly how to use the Identifier to select a
handler, and there are examples of how to use it in a hook, I can't
find, in the documention, how I might access it in a authby external
program.

So, can it be done, and if so, how?

Thanks,
