Looks like this is what RHEL 7 release notes recommend too:

If you search for mod_auth_mysql (or mod_auth_pgsql), they both were 
removed and mod_authn_dbd is noted to work with Apache 2.4

Not related to SQL, but looks like mod_authz_ldap has been respectively 
replaced with mod_authnz_ldap.
