[RADIATOR] RADSEC error after upgrade from Radiator 4.3.1 to Radiator 4.4

I was pondering about this over the weekend because I'm
not familiar with the historical reasons....

why is there a patchset to apply to a release? surely you just
get a new point release instead

ie instead of 4.4 with patches, you get 4.4.1 which already has
all these patches that everyone needs to apply anyway??
