Hello Dan -

You are correct, the manual only indicates where GlobalVar's work (ie. 
where you can use special characters).

If you have found something that does not work correctly, please send 
us a copy of the configuration file (no secrets) together with a trace 
4 debug from Radiator showing the problem so we can reproduce it and 
fix it.
