When generating "Encoded:" output with
https://github.com/P-H-C/phc-winner-argon2#command-line-utility

and then feeding it to argon2id_verify as described in Synopsis here:
https://metacpan.org/pod/Crypt::Argon2

the return value correctly indicates true/false. Looks like it dies if 
the encoded string is broken but this is easily caught too.

In short: supporting argon2id for Encrypted-Password with command line 
utility's Encoded format would be straight forward.

I guess this matches what you are thinking of too?
