(RADIATOR) PostSearchHook() error due to strict refs?

what does the following error mean? the effect seems to be that the post
search hook is not called?

Error in PostSearchHook(): Can't use string ("%D/post-searc
h-hook-mia.pl") as a subroutine ref while "strict refs" in use at
Radius/Configurable.pm l
ine 460.

the only change i have made is to oveeride the hook file location by using
command line option such as dbdir.
