Are you sure it said 1243?
There is no unpack_sockaddr_in at line 1243 in Radius.pm of 5.0beta.
Perhaps your make install did not work properly or completely?
Please send me the results of:

ls -l /opt/perl/lib/site_perl/5.005/Radius/Radius.pm
